Welcoming a new baby into the family is truly a precious blessing. However, as parents living in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, we must navigate a variety of administrative tasks that need to be addressed before we can bring our little one home from the hospital. This includes handling paperwork related to birth registration, ensuring we have the necessary health documents, and understanding the requirements for issuing a birth certificate. These preparations can feel overwhelming, but they are essential steps in starting this exciting new chapter of our lives.

The first step is issuing the Baby certificate. For issuing baby certificate there are seveal steps that need to be done

1. Before you leave the hospital, it’s essential to visit the **تبليغ الولدة** (Birth Notification) section. This is a crucial step in the process of registering your newborn. At this section, you will need to request the staff to enter your baby’s information into the official records. They will provide you with a specific form to complete, which requires details such as your baby’s full name written in both Arabic and English. Additionally, the form will ask for pertinent information regarding the parents, including names, identification numbers, and possibly other personal details as required by the authorities.
2. After that, you can safely be discharged from the hospital and wait for approval from Jawazat. You will receive an SMS from Absher explaining that your baby has been successfully registered, complete with an identity number that will be used in the Iqama later.
3. Open Absher and check the notification about your baby. If everything is okay, you can approve it.
4. After approval, you can request the delivery of your baby’s birth certificate to your registered national address and pay approximately 30 SAR for delivery.
5. After a couple of days, you will receive your birth certificate.

The entire process is now conducted online, marking a significant advancement in the Saudi system. Gone are the days when individuals had to make offline visits to the civil registry office.
