Remix version of jaunty is very smooth has additional value on visual aspect. But, like earlier release of ubuntu, this version lack of multimedia support.

due to license of some codecs, ubuntu doesn’t include pupolar multimedia codecs for playing restricted file format such as mp3, mp4 even popular mpeg format.

to solve this problem, i use medibuntu (may be acronym for multiMEDIa uBUNTU) repository to install all codecs i need ….

the steps are:
1. Include this line to source.list file :
deb http://packages.medibuntu.org/ jaunty free non-free

2. get the key and add it to keyring
wget -q http://packages.medibuntu.org/medibuntu-key.gpg -O- | sudo apt-key add -

3. update the repository
sudo apt-get update

4. the last step is install your codecs
sudo apt-get install non-free-codecs
